bit racist
last few days we began to wonder, Richard and I, for the number of women we see with bruises on her face.
At first I just watched and not questioned me anything about it. But over time, and at the number of women living with black eyes, or other marks of blows to the face, I began to think about it. And then, when Richard told me he had seen so many women, started out with us the issue of family violence against women.
addition to all this happened that two days ago while I was at home watching a movie, correcting exams, I started listening to suddenly screams from the street. I looked out the window, a man was beating his wife with a belt. She defended as could and screamed and cried. There were many people on the street and all went as seeing nothing. Soon other people wounded, a young girl and a man. What touched me most is that when they managed to separate and remove the belt to the man, the girl (his daughter?) Started yelling at the woman, blamed on things, giving your time small blows to the head. After a few minutes
all calmed down and the episode ended with everyone returning to home.
Of course violence against women is not confined to any place.
From what I am sure of one thing here is that machismo is very strong, and that in general women are relegated to a place in the family.
is an idea of \u200b\u200b'right' on the woman once she is married to this guy. She belongs to him and that is understood at the level of the entire society. So, I guess, no one involved if they see someone beating the wife, no one calls the police, the police do not listen, does not appear.
